Mrs. Krainess was a daughter of Bessie (Parker) and Herbert D. Merritt of Belmont County, Ohio, and she spent a large part of her life in Columbus. She first married a Mr. Drummond, with whom she had two children, Cecil and Cheryln. In 1977 she moved to Akron and married Morris Krainess.
She was a member of Akron Division Fraternity 55 of the Deaf, Ohio Association of the Deaf, Akron Club of the Deaf, Cleveland Buckeye Senior Citizens of the Deaf, Canton Silent Club, and Akron Goodyear Senior Citizens.
