Henrik C. (Hank) Gahn, age 89, passed away in his sleep at the Life Care Center of Gwinnett on September 20, 2015.

A private memorial service will be held at the Sunset Hill Cemetery in Glen Carbon, IL.

Hank was born August 12, 1926, in Chicago, IL and attended both Michigan State University and St. Louis University. He served his country proudly as a pilot in the Army Air Corp. and continued a love for flying the rest of his life.

Hank began a long career in the beer industry in the late 1940’s in St. Louis where he would later meet his future wife Patricia Ann Bramley. After their marriage in 1954, the couple moved to Northern California (San Mateo & San Jose) and later lived in Texas, Missouri, and Indiana before finally settling to the Atlanta, GA area in 2001 to be close to their son and daughter-in-law.

Over the years Hank was an active member of the many Presbyterian Churches he belonged to across the country. He was also active for many years with both the Carmel, IN Lions Club and later the Cumming, GA American Legion and he loved the many travels taken with family members throughout his lifetime. Hank was both a wonderful husband and father who always displayed a great love for his family.

Hank is survived by his only son Rick and daughter-in-law Emily of Alpharetta, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The American Legion Charities at http://www.legion.org/donate
