Enlisted, January 15,1892, in Troop A Cavalry, New York City. He saw field service with Troop A Cavalry during the Buffalo Switchmen's Strike, August 1892 and the Brooklyn Trolley Strike, January 1895. When Troop A was reorganized into Squadron A he was assigned to Troop 2, Squadron A. Discharged from Squadron A in October 1897.

His father Frederick Walker Lincoln was twice the Mayor of Boston, 1858 - 1860 and 1863 - 1867.

He was the great, great, grand grandson of Paul Revere and detain relative of President Lincoln.
