Evelyn M. Morris, age 85, of Clay City, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at Flora Gardens Care Center.

Evelyn was born October 12, 1929, in Richland County, the daughter of Carlos A. and Esther Marie (Abbott) Brown. She married Francis L. Morris on September 1, 1949, in Noble, and they shared 66 memorable years of marriage together.

Evelyn worked over the years as a hairdresser out of her home, had been a member of the Flora Chapter Women Of The Moose, and enjoyed square dancing, artistic painting, and reading. She enjoyed helping care for her grandchildren, and was of the Christian faith.

Evelyn is survived by her husband: Francis “Fran” L. Morris; three sons: Steve (Jane) Morris, David (Karen) Morris, and Rodger (Ronna) Morris; four grandchildren: Joseph (fiancé Mia) Morris, Ryan (Mary) Morris, Katie Morris, and Rachel (Gabe) Helms; and two great-grandchildren: Jackson Morris and Hazel Morris.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother: Truman Brown.

A graveside service for Evelyn Morris will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2015, at Hanna Cemetery in Noble, where burial will follow. Those wishing to attend may come directly to the cemetery.
