Mr. Delmer White, a member of the Holt Road Baptist Church and resident of Marietta, Georgia passed away on September 14, 2015 at his home.

Delmer was born on April 27, 1919 in Greenville, South Carolina and lived a full life of 96 years. As a young man, he and his family moved to Newport, Tennessee where he married and had two children.

He is preceded in death by his parents, mother Viney Gunter White, father John R. White, sister Hattie, and brothers Walter, George and Fred.

He is survived by his two children, son Roger, his wife Donna, their sons Matthew and Wesley, his daughter Charlene Whitson and her daughter Angelia and family. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren and a large step-family, all who loved him dearly.

Delmer enlisted in the US Army on August 12, 1940 and served in Europe. He was discharged on June 17, 1945 after the war, but re-enlisted in the US Air Force and retired on June 1, 1974 serving over 31 years in service to our country in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 pm on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm-2:00 pm on Sunday at Manes Funeral Home.
