MELISSA E. SEARS DIES DURING NIGHT AT HOME ON MCKINKLEY AVENUE

When George W. Sears, 954 McKinley Avenue, went to call his wife yesterday morning about 6 o'clock, he found her dead. She had probably died late Wednesday night.

Mrs. Sears, who is 65 years old, had been feeling unwell for several years. She was up and around Wednesday, however, and did not complain of being ill.

Mr. Sears arose early and built a fire. He returned to the bedroom to call his wife and found her cold in death.

Melissa E. Sears was born in Union County, Ohio, May 13, 1854, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Keeler. On December 6, 1879, she married George Sears in Marion County, Ohio. The couple have resided in Frankfort since 1910 and for 11 years before had lived at Jefferson.

Besides her husband, five children survive. They are: Corinthia Timmons, Bessie Lloyd, Myrtle Coon, William Sears and Maude Evans, all of Clinton County. William Keeler and Amelia Dutton, brother and sister, both residing in Ohio, also survive. Mr. Keeler has been visiting at the Sears home for the past few days.
