Mrs. Mattie Corbett died Sunday at her home in Denison, following a critical illness of only four days.
Mattie Dial was born at Dial, July 31, 1855, being 89 years of age.
She was the daughter of William A. and Mary Dial, early settlers in this section.
She was married to T. P. Baker and later to E. B. Corbett.
Her first husband died October 11, 1900, and Mr. Corbett passed away in January 1923.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services were held at Denison Monday morning, conducted by Rev. James E. Spivy, and the body was brought to Oakwood Cemetery here for interment. Graveside services were by Rev. Spivy, assisted by Dr. J. Thompson Baker.
Three children survive, Jim Baker, Texarkana; Dee Baker and Mrs. Oliver Hayes, Denison; two brothers, Walter and Willie Dial, Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. W.B. Vaughn, Dallas; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
