Dawson Walker, age 86, a longtime resident of Tishomingo passed away August 21, 2015 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He was born on July 19, 1929 to Waldo and Nora (Holly) Walker in Emet, Oklahoma. He married Lajoy (Deaton) Walker in 1982 at Allen, Texas and she preceded him in death on April 24, 2010. He attended school in Nida, Oklahoma. Dawson worked as a police officer and he joined the United States Navy-Army in 1951 and fought in the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Masons and he attended the Southern Baptist Calvery. Dawson loved hunting, fishing, baseball, dominos and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his sons, Marlon Sullivan and wife Shelly of Tishomingo, OK, Jerry Sullivan of Tulsa, OK and Joe Walker and wife Diane of Durant, OK; daughters, Holly Farmer of Madill, OK, Patty Reid and husband Glen of Kingston, OK and Becky Willing and husband Stephen of Minnesota; brother, Chuck Walker of Springdale, AR; sister, Charline Graves of Denton, TX; along with multiple grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lajoy Walker; brother, John Walker; parents, Waldo and Nora Walker and son, Danny Walker.
There will be a graveside service Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 10 AM at Tishomingo Cemetery in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Bro. Jon Smith will be officiating the service. The pallbearers will be Dawson's sons and grandsons and the honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Tishomingo Police Department and Johnston County Sheriff's Department. Family night will be Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Brown's Funeral Chapel in Madill, Oklahoma.
