She was born in Brinkley on Nov. 3, 1966, to Wallace and Sharon Porter.
Susan grew up in Jonesboro where she was a Jonesboro High School cheerleader and graduated with the class of 1985. She was baptized and was a member of the Church of Christ. After high school, she attended Ole Miss and obtained a master's degree at Memphis State. While at Ole Miss she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wallace Porter; maternal grandparents, Pete and Georgia Dunlap; and paternal grandmother, Velma Little.
Susan had two children: a son, Will Overton; and a daughter, Georgia Overton.
Susan is survived by her son, Will Overton; mother, Sharon Porter; and brother, John Porter.
Funeral arrangements were by Emerson Funeral Home.
