Services for Walter Mans, 83, 164 Swiss St, who died Wednesday, Feb 8, 1984 at the Mankato House Health Care Center, after a lingering illness, will be 11am Saturday at Ss Peter & Paul’s Catholic Church, the Rev Charles Kerr S.J. officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato.
Visitation will be 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm Friday with an 8pm rosary service at Landkamer’s Funeral Home. Memorials are preferred to the Immanuel-St.Joseph’s Hospital Renal Dialysis fund.
Mr Mans was born in Belgrade Township, Nicollet County January 21, 1901 to Battes and Susan (Sanem) Mans. He married Margaret Klaseus June 2, 1938 at Ss Peter & Paul’s Catholic Church. He was a lifelong resident of the Mankato area and was employed at the Mankato Brewery for 20 years. He was custodian and parking lot attendant at the First Bank until he retired in 1981. He was a member of the Third and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; three sons: twins Richard H of Fairborn, Ohio, and Robert L of Orange Park, Florida, and Jerry of Phoenix AZ; a daughter Rita (Mrs Lee) Clifton of Darien, Illinois; two brothers: Eugene of Cannon Falls and Reinhart of Riceville, Iowa; a sister Mary (Mrs Joe) Neuman of North Mankato; nine grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
