Ervin Jones Angell, 84, of Manteo died on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Peak Resources-Outer Banks. Born in Mocksville, NC, he was the son of the late Charles Brantley Angell and Minnie Latham Angell. Ervin was a retired dairy farmer. Making his retirement home in Dare County, he worked with the National Park Service and the Dare County Tourism Board. A devoted husband and father, loved to fish and had a passion for hospitality. Ervin was a member of Manteo Baptist Church.

Ervin is survived by his wife, Peggy Cline Angell; a daughter, Sherry Angell Wescott and husband, John of Manns Harbor; a son, W. Scott Angell and wife, LuAnn of Mocksville; four grandchildren, Angell Wescott, Brennan Wescott, Brantley Angell (Kim) and Jerri Ann Sain (Dean); five great grandchildren, Whitley, Rebekah, Nathaniel, Claire and Everett; and a brother, Verious B. Angell and wife, Betty of Mocksville. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Charlie Gaither Angell and wife, Nellie Wilson Angell.

A funeral will be held on Monday, August 17, 2015 at Manteo Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Simpson officiating. Burial will take place at Joppa Cemetery in Mocksville, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Manteo Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 670, Manteo, NC 27954.
