OBIT: Russell Devick, age 84, of Yorkville, IL, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2006 as the result of an automobile accident in Yorkville, IL. He was born on January 11, 1922, the son of Ben and Sadie (Weeks) Devick. Mr. Devick was united in marriage on May 18, 1946 at the Helmar Lutheran Church in Newark, IL., to the former Margaret ["Marge"] Elizabeth Batorson and they recently celebrated their 60th anniversary together. He was a member of the Helmar Lutheran Church in Newark, IL. Russell served with the United States 1st Army in Europe during World War II. He had worked locally for over 40 years as a service and repairman for farm equipment. Later, Russell was a salesman for automobile dealers in Kendall County. Russ retired from the Bristol- Kendall Fire Department, after 46 years, having served as Fire Chief for 12 of those years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Devick of Yorkville, IL; his son, Daryl Devick of Aurora, IL; his grandson, Erik Devick of Geneva, IL; his sister, Lois (Gerald) Stangland of Sugar Grove, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Sadie Devick; his brother, Curtis (Sadie) Devick; and his sister, Bernice (John) Behrens. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, July 13, 2006 at Helmar Lutheran Church, 11935 Lisbon Road, Helmar, IL, with Pastor Jeff Swanson officiating. Interment will follow in the Helmar Lutheran Cemetery, Helmar, IL. Friends may visit from 4 until 8 PM on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E.
