He was a pioneer of the Rhythm and Blues genre. Dixon is probably best known for the song "Hey Bartender", (1954) which was later recorded to much acclaim by The Blues Brothers. Dixon was also an accomplished piano player who shared the stage with other music legends such as B.B. King, Ray Charles and Charles Brown.
