Mr. Dunn was born February 16, 1930 in Medina, NY son of the late Norman and Mildred (Gregory) Dunn.
He grew up in the Orleans County area and as a youngster worked on the family farm.
He was employed as a Supervisor for New York Central Railroad and Frontier Railroad and retired in l991.
After his retirement he wintered in Florida for a few years. He was an avid antique collector and frequented Rudy's diner in Medina.
He was predeceased by his former wife Elizabeth "Betty" Dunn his siblings Gladys Caldwell, Norma Jerman, Eileen Neil, Richard Dunn, Lynn Dunn and Norman Dunn Jr.
He is survived by his wife Voncille Dunn of Lewisville, Texas, six children Robert (Linda) Dunn of Texas, William R. Dunn Jr., of Medina, Connie (James) Lauley of Barker, Sid (Rhonda) Dunn of Niagara Falls, Doug (Karen) Dunn of Lyndonville, and Danny (Janice) Dunn of Medina.
Also surviving are several grandchildren and great grandchildren, one sister Lola (Edward) Caldwell of West Virginia and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Monday, August 17, 2015 at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St., Medina from 6 PM to 8 PM where a Memorial Service will follow at 8 PM with the Rev. Erik Olsen officiating.
Burial will be in Somerset Cemetery.
