The following declaration was made to the Sisters due to the high number of deaths at the Convent.
"Up to this period, the Sisters had faithfully continued in the holy exercise of perpetual adoration by night and by day, regardless of the inclemency of the season. The Right Rev. Bishop, alarmed by the increased number of deaths, prohibited, to the great distress of the Sisters, nightly vigils before the Blessed Sacrament. Adoration was kept up during the day with unabated fervor." From:
