The Reverend Robert Opperman, 95, of, Fostoria, OH died Tuesday, December 29, 2015.
He was born in 1920, in Auglaize County, OH, the son of Herman and Anna (Nolte) Opperman.
He married Jeanne M. Meier on June 8, 1949, in Prescott, WI, and she survives.

He is also survived:

He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his siblings: Vernon Opperman, Dorothy Jung, Myron Opperman, Ed Opperman and Fred Opperman and by a granddaughter, Leslie Ann Opperman.

Reverend Opperman was a 1938 graduate of New Knoxville High School.

He was a 1949 graduate of Mission House College in Plymouth, WI, and a Masterís of Divinity in 1952. He was ordained in June, 1952, and he served in United Church of Christ parishes including St. Johnís-Baseline Church in College Hill, OH; Immanuel UCC in Plymouth, WI, Ripley UCC in Traer, IA, Peace UCC in Dysart, IA. He did interim pastoral work in Fostoria and Upper Sandusky, OH.

He served in the United States Army during WWII.

He enjoyed traveling, fishing, and flower gardening. He loved spending time with his family. He had the privilege of performing the marriages of all of his children. He also had the privilege of baptizing grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 2, 2016, at the First Church of New Knoxville, the Reverend Beth Ernest, Rev Paul Myers, and Rev. Dan Busch, officiants. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.

Friends may call one hour prior to services in the Heritage Room of the First Church of New Knoxville. Memorial donations may be given to Lakeland College in Plymouth, Wisconsin.
