Joyce Price, longtime LeGrand resident, passed from this life three days following her 78th birthday, at the Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook.
Funeral services for Joyce will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2015, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Darren Young officiating. Public visitation will begin at 9:30 until service time.
Born on July 30th, 1937, in Marshalltown, she was one of four children born to Raymond and Goldie (Wilhelmi) Isenhower. Joyce received her education and graduated from the Marshalltown Public Schools.
On June 3rd, 1955, she was united in marriage to Henry Price. They made their home in Marshalltown until 1972 when they moved to LeGrand. Joyce was a familiar face in our community at Taylor’s Maid-Rite for 27 faithful years. She enjoyed bowling, going to the casino, cooking and baking, playing 500 and Pepper amongst other card games and taking on the role of hostess for family dinners and events.
Joyce was blessed with three sons- Jay (Diane) Price of Gilman, Douglas (Mel) Price of Marshalltown and Phil (Maggie) Price of Crystal Lake, IL: her grandchildren- Mindy (Perry) Himes, Matt (Blair) Price, Shelby (Paul) Collins, Randy (Tara) Price, Jill Mundt and Jason Price; her great-grandchildren- Karsyn, Kamryn, Aubree, Ava, Bailey and Addison, brother Robert “Bob” (Jeannie) Isenhower of Carlisle, and sister Marge Ferkin of Marshalltown, and many of the Price family.
In death, she rejoined her beloved Henry who passed away on January 27th, 2013, her parents and younger brother, David Isenhower last month.
