Joseph Borger, of Riverside, NJ passed away Sat Aug 3, 2002, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 78.

Joseph was born in Phila, PA and had been a resident of Riverside for the past 46 years. He was a graduate of St Boniface School and Muriel Dobbins HS both in Phila. He received his Associated Degree from Penn State UN. He was a WWII Army Veteran who fought in the Battle of the Bulge and many European theatres of war where he won the Purple Heart.

Joseph worked for many years at the Frankford Arsenal in Phila and for ten years at the Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, NJ as an Engineering Technician in Research & Development. He was a devoted Catholic and member of St Peter's RC Church in Riverside, an avid golfer, car enthusiast and woodworker. He was a member of NARFE.

Joseph was the beloved husband of Josephine Borger (nee Morgan) of Riverside to whom he was married for 50 years. The loving father of Christine Borger of Ventnor, NJ, Maureen Basehore and her husband Tom of Shamong, NJ, Jo Ann Epstein and her husband Dr. Herb of Medford, NJ, Gerri Troiano and her husband Troy of Northfield, NJ, Beth Ann Magown and her husband Craig of Westampton, NJ and the late Francine Borger. The cherished grandfather of Tom, Kyle, Brandon, Steven, Jesse and Julie.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wed 11am at St Peter's Church. Interment will follow at St Peter's Cemetery, Riverside. Visitation will be Tues 7-9pm and Wed 10-10:30am at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St Peter's Church or to the Riverside EMS American Legion in Riverside. Obituary Burlington Co Times NJ Aug 5, 2002.
