Evelyn was born in the Conoley Community south of Thorndale. She married Graham Young, Jr. on June 20, 1953 and to this union, three children were born. Evelyn was a nurse at Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale for 20 years. She had an interest in research for hearing loss, pulmonary and heart diseases as well as in the Thorndale Ex-Students Association. Evelyn died on a Sunday in August, and in accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no funeral services.
