Son of George Franklin Marshall and Fannie Margaret Marshall Marshall (yes, she was a Marshall before she married George. She was the daughter of Thornton Marshall and Mary Shiflett Marshall).

Charles Henry Marshall, 85, of Rio Road, died today in a Charlottesville Hospital. He was the son of the late Fannie Marshall and George F. Marshall. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Batesville Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mary Frances Marshall; three sons, Charles Marshall of Hialeah, Fla., Lewis Marshall of Afton and George Early Marshall of Charlottesville; four daughters, Mrs. Marshall Tomlin of Faber and Mrs. Gadys Graves. Mrs. Hannah Gibson and Mrs. Daisy Gibson of Afton; a stepson, George Fitch of Charlottesville; two half-brothers, Robert E. and Thomas J. Marshall of Earlysville; five half-sisters, Mrs. Eunice Cox and Mrs. Julia Huff of Charlottesville, and Mrs. Bertha Connor, Mrs. Catherine Dodd and Mrs. Louise Funia of Richmond; 26 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p. m. Sunday at the Hawkins Funeral Chapel with burial in Rockgate Cemetery in Crozet.
