Mrs. Christine Ballenger Herring, 72, of Royston, GA passed away Friday, July 31, 2015 at her home.
Mrs. Herring was born in Royston, GA on December 26, 1942, daughter of the late Joe Ballenger and the late Mattie Welborn Ballenger. She was a retired real estate broker and a member of Royston Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John and Deborah Herring of Royston, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Mike Carson of Canton, NC. Mrs. Herring was also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Nelson Ballenger; two half brothers, Charlie Ballenger and John Ballenger; two sisters, Naomi Ayers and Polly Bowers; and one half sister, Nannie Sue Phillips.
Funeral services will be at Royston Baptist Church on Monday, August 3, 2015 at 4:30 p.m. with Rev. Jonathan Barlow and Dr. Danny Barton officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, GA on Sunday evening. The family is at the home.
Flowers are optional; memorials may be made to the Royston Baptist Church, 767 Church Street, Royston, GA 30662 or to the American Cancer Society, 1684 S. Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30605.
