Charlie Bradler was my Great Grandfather. He was the son of Ann (nee Young) and Gustav Bradler. His siblings were Stella and Gus. He worked as an ironworker, driver and a longshoreman. He was also a shadow boxer. He loved ballroom dancing. His nickname was "Dutchy". He registered for the draft during WWI in 1918.

He was married to
Sadie Fitzpatrick and they had four children: Francis, Dorothy "Dolly", Kate and Robert. Charlie was very handsome. As the story goes, Charlie was seen by Sadie kissing another woman and Sadie told him to leave. Charlie had children with this other woman. Her name is unknown. Sadie and her children never saw Charlie again, even though he lived only a few blocks away. The family doesn't have a picture of Charlie.
