DAVENPORT -- Vingene W. Paustian, of Davenport, died Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at the Good Samaritan Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2005, at West Park Presbyterian Church in Davenport. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to West Park Presbyterian Church or to the Alzheimer's Association. Vingene was born February 26, 1921, in Walcott, Iowa, to William H. and Claudia (Messer) Paustian. He was a life-long farmer and worked at Dales Service Center after retiring. He was united in marriage to Mardell L. Haase on December 19, 1945, in Davenport. Vingene was a member of West Park Presbyterian Church, where he had served as an Elder and Deacon, Walcott Community Club and the Moose Lodge of Davenport. He loved listening to music, especially polka, and playing cards. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Mardell, Davenport; daughter, Ginny, and her husband, Jeff, Bettendorf; son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Judy Paustian, Davenport; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Vernon. The family would like to thank the staff at the Good Samaritan Home for the wonderful care that was given to our loved one and to our family.
