Fay Whiteside, 81, 620 Fourth, died at 4:.30 p.m. Saturday at Columbus Convalescent Center after being seriously ill four weeks. She had been a practical nurse 20 years, retiring in 1972.

Funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Nancy L. Elgar at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Reed and Jewell Funeral Home, where persons may call from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Mrs. Whiteside was born Jan. 19, 1897, in Rockcreek Township, the daughter of Richard and Effie Boyer Stephenson. She was a member of Grammer Presbyterian Church and the Hartsville Eastern Star.

Survivors include two sons, Eugene Whiteside of Route 2 and Valford Whiteside of Beech Grove; two sisters, Carrie Hughes of Route 2 and Evelyn Brougher of Elizabethtown route 1, and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
