William Mickey Walker was born on December 19, 1941 and left this world on July 27, 2015.


He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. He owned and operated Walker's – Sterling's IGA for more than 20 years and served on the Blount County Commission from 1990 – 2002. He loved working on his farm and spending time at the project with his friends, but most of all he loved spending time with his family or as he would say, "his babies and grand-babies."



Preceded in death by: Wife, Mary Ruth Taylor Walker; Father, John G. Walker; Mother, Bernice Walker; Brothers, Bud Walker & John R. Walker; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Hoyle & Mayme Taylor.


Survivors include: Son & Daughter-in-law, Mike & Sherri Walker; Daughter & Son-in-law, Sherri & Jason Blair; Grandchildren, Taylor Walker, Whitney & Scott Bachman, Jessica & Chris Rop, and Hunter Blair; Special friends & neighbors, Lynn & Lenville Powell, Virgil Everett, Buster King, & Wayne Lowe plus many more relatives and friends to mention. He will be sadly missed by everyone that knew and loved him.


The family would like to thank the caregivers at Williamsburg Villas for all their kindness shown during Mickey's stay.


Family and friends will assemble for graveside service "only" at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 1, 2015 at West Millers Cove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jason Blair, Elder Mike Walker, and Elder Taylor Walker officiating.


In lieu of flowers, please make donations to: Millers Cove Cemetery Association, 931 E. Millers Cove Road, Walland, TN 37886-2427, in care of Rocklan King.
