Funeral services for Mrs. Martin Burke will be held at 10 o’clock Friday from the funeral home of Lamana_Panno-Fallo, Inc, 625 Rampart
Religious services will follow at St Patrick’s Church and interment in St Patrick Cemetery #3
The former Miss Santa Maria Palermo, Mrs. Burke was a native New Orleanian. She died Wednesday night at Touro Infirmary following a lengthy illness. She was 47 years old, and took up residence in Hollywood California.
She became ill and was hospitalized about 10 weeks ago, when she returned to New Orleans to visit her relatives.
Her husband has been in New Orleans for the past 8 weeks. He is a former professional boxer, promoter and night club operator. Besides her husband, Mrs. Burke is survived by 2 children, Paul and Martin Burke, Jr. and grandchild Paula Santa Maria Burke, 3 brothers, Dr. Joseph, Charles and George Palermo and sister Mrs. Dominick Mangiaracina

At Touro Infirmary on Wednesday October 19, 194, at 9:56 o’clock PM, Santa Maria Palermo, beloved wife of Martin Burke, mother of Paul and Martin Burke, Jr., daughter of the late Nicolina Liuzza, and Paul Palermo, sister of Dr. Joseph, Charles and George Palermo and Mrs. Dominick Mangiaracina and the late Mrs. Frank Battaglia and Pascal Palermo, grandmother of Paula Santa Maria Burke, native of New Orleans and resident of Hollywood, California for the past year. The relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral which will take place on Friday October 21, 1949 at 10 o’clock AM, from the funeral home of Lamana_Panno-Fallo, 625 N. Rampart, near Municiple Auditorium.
