Long Time Resident of Cortland Dies of Pneumonia
"Mrs. Mary Curtin Hammond, 48, wife of Frank Hammond, died Friday evening at her home, 26 Cleveland St. after an illness of about three months. It was due to pneumonia. She was born in Washington, DC and had lived in Cortland [County] since two years old, making her home in this city the past 26 years.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Hammond; her father, Charles Curtin of Apulia; two sisters, Mrs. Neil Casey of Apulia and Mrs Charles Curtin of Fayetteville; and five brothers, Dennis and Charles Curtin of Tully; Daniel Curtin of Preble; John Curtin and Michael Curtin of Syracuse.
The funeral will be held from the late home on Monday morning at 9 o'clock and from St. Mary's church at 9:30 o'clock. Internment in St. Mary's cemetery."
