Dicie Madeline Adkins Boone
JUDSON - Dicie Madeline Adkins Boone, age 93, of Judson, W.Va., died Saturday, January 24, 2009, at the Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, following a long illness.
Born January 11, 1916, at Judson, she was the daughter of the late Seldon C. and Maude B. Wiseman Adkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James N. Boone ; three sons, Seldon Boone , Kerwin D. Boone , and Delano Nyal Boone ; and four brothers, Dempsey Adkins, Donny Adkins, Murrell Adkins, and Badie Adkins.
Mrs. Boone was a homemaker and a member of the Judson Freewill Baptist Church, Judson, West Virginia.
Survivors include two daughters, Dalana Grimmett of Wayside, and Doris Ward of Judson; five sons, Lynwall Boone and his wife, Patricia, of Richmond, Va., Milan Boone and his wife, Sharon, of McConnelsville, Ohio, Steve Boone and his wife, Judith, of Clayton, James Boone and his wife, Debra, of Stockport, Ohio, and Milton Boone and his wife, Dorene, of Judson; two brothers, Erie Adkins and his wife, Irene, of Judson, and Dorsey Adkins of Stockport, Ohio; 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at the Lobban Funeral Home Chapel, Alderson, with the Rev. Wilford Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Adkins Family Cemetery, Flat Mountain, Alderson.
Friends may call 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at the Lobban Funeral Home, Alderson.
Serving as pallbearers will be James Meadows, Buck Reed, Daniel Bragg, Paul Bragg, Jacob Boone , and Robert Boone .
