Christina Van Donkelaar (nee De Koter) passed away Wednesday afternoon in Sioux City at the age of sixty-seven years. On July 30, 1940, in Maurice, Iowa, she was united in marriage to Herman Van Donkelaar who now survives. To this union seven children were born: Gerrit of Maurice, Iowa; Sharon, Mrs. Gerard Zeutenhorst, of Sioux Center, Iowa; Carol, Mrs. Junior Van't Hul, of Rock Valley, Iowa; Nancy, Mrs. John May, of Spirit Lake, Iowa; Debbie Van Donkelaar of Sioux Center, Iowa; Bob Van Donkelaar of Remsen, Iowa; and Marcia, Mrs. Steve Morphew, of Martell, Nebraska.
She is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: Bill De Koter of Orange City, Iowa; Art De Koter of Sioux Center, Iowa; Pete De Koter of Sioux Center, Iowa; Audrey, Mrs. Richard Durward, of Tumwater, Washington; and Betty, Mrs. Arlan Beeck, of Boulder, Colorado.
