Father Of Phillipsburg Woman Dead At Dover
Mr.Baker was for many years Superintent of car shops there.Jacob W.Baker,father of Mrs.H.B.Shampanore,of Phillipsburg,died Saturday at his home in Dover from paralysis,Mr.Baker,who was 77 years old,never fully recovered from the effects of his wife's death which occured two years ago.For 33 years he was superintendent of the old Lackawanna car shops,resigning in 1899.He is survived by two sons,Joseph Baker,Town Clerk of Dover,and Alfred G.Baker,of San Francisco,and three daughters,Mrs.Shampanore,Miss Mary A.Baker,at home,and Miss May A.Baker,of Newark.Mr.Baker was a former resident of Washington,this county,where the funeral services will be held to morrow afternoon in the Methodist Episcopal Church.The services of the Masonic Lodge will be conducted.Deceased was the oldest living members of the Washington Lodge.He was also a member of the Royal Arcanum and the G.A.R.
