Madelle Egbert Bischoff, 74, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015 at Portneuf Regional Medical Center in Pocatello.

He was born September 14, 1940 at Grace, Idaho, to Claude Brigham and Bessie Marie Egbert Bischoff. Madelle attended school in Grace and graduated from Granite High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. He has lived in Blackfoot most of his adult, except for four years that he spent in Tennessee.

Madelle served in the United States Marine Corps from 1962 to 1966. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton, California, Kodiak, Alaska and Japan.

On October 8, 1986 he married Marjorie Soden Tobias at Blackfoot, Idaho.

He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Madelle has served faithfully as a leader in The Boy Scouts of America.

Madelle was a member of the Elks Lodge, American Legion Stewart Hoover Post #23 and the Blackfoot Skydiving Club. He enjoyed being part of community activities.

He worked 24 years as an animal control officer for Bingham County, he was also a machinist for General Dynamics in California, he worked at American Potato, and as an Armored Truck Driver.

Madelle enjoyed doing genealogy, backpacking, camping and being outdoors. He loved spending time with children and grandchildren, supporting them in their activities.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie, of Blackfoot; sons, Ray (Brandi) Bischoff, of Clarksville, Tennessee, Kevin (Betty) Tobias, of Layton, Utah; daughter, Nicole Bischoff, of Blackfoot; brother, Claude Bischoff, of Pocatello; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen; son, Mark Tobias and his parents.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot. The family will meet with friends and relatives for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. There will be a celebration of life held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the Blackfoot Elk’s Lodge, 132 N Ash. Interment will follow service in Mountain View Cemetery in Pocatello.
