Bonnie Schulenberg Knipple Crain, 65, formerly of New Bremen and then of San Mateo, California, died early Thursday morning, July 23, (1987) in Geneseo, New York, after 10 months of cancer. She was born March 15, 1922 in New Bremen, the daughter of Cade and Norma Heil Schulenberg. Her mother survives in St. Marys. In Febraury of 1944 she married Warren Knipple, who died during World War II in July of 1944. Other survivors include two daughters, Candace and Cynthia Crain of California, one son, Charles Crain, also of Califormia; and one sister, Mrs. Valentin (Susan) Rabe of Geneseo, New York. Mrs. Crain had been a member of Zion United Church of Christ in New Bremen. She had worked for the U.S. Postal Service in San Mateo. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the Gilberg Funeral Home, New Bremen, Rev. Keith Hunholz officiating. Burial will be in German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen. Friends may call Wednesday at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until time of services. Preferred memorial is to the American Cancer Society.
