Mrs. Catherine Frey, of 723 N Buchanan, died Friday at her home at 11:45 pm due to complications of old age. She was aged 84 yrs 5 mos and 21 days. Mrs. Frey was born in Beaver, Ohio on April 8, 1860 the daughter of Urban & Eva Barbara Gabelmann. On May 25, 1880 she was united in marriage to Peter Frey at Highland, IL. He preceded her in death 32 yrs ago. Surviving are three sons; Peter C of Marine, Edward H of Troy, and Walter J of Edwardsville; five daughters, Mrs. Ida Keck of Trenton, Mrs. Carrie Adelhardt, Mrs. Kate Carter, Mars Alice Spengel and Miss Linda Frey all of Edwardsville. One son preceded her in death and 2 infants. There are three grandsons in the armed forces; Clarence Adelhardt and Edward Frey who are in France; Ottmar Frey who is in Italy. Eight brothers preceded her in death. She had no sisters. Funeral Monday at 2 o'clock.
