For no apparent cause whatever Henry L. O'Steen, of Chiefland, was shot down in cold blood on Monday morning last, 6 miles from Chiefland on the road lending to Cedar Key, by A. T. Thomas. The murder occurring about 7 o'clock in the morning Immediately after the murder Thomas caught a passing car and came direct to Bronson where he surrendered himself to Sheriff Walker at the same time confessing to have murdered O'Steen but would give the sheriff no reason for the act.
