SERVED WITH CO B 64TH NY INFANTRY DURING THE CIVIL WAR. BORN IN NEW YORK. MOVED TO WASHINGTON STATE AFTER THE CIVIL WAR WHERE HE DIED. BORN ONEIDA COUNTY, NY. MARRIED PAULINA DUNBAR. FOUGHT IN THE BATTLES AT FAIR OAKS, VA. AND THE SEVERN DAYS BATTLE. DIED TACOMA, WASHINGTON.

Squire S. Payne is my great-great grandfather. His son, Lyman S. Payne (1850-1910) my great-grnftr. His grndau, Mable Orinda (Payne) Pippenger (1896-1972) was my maternal grandmother and her daughter, Alberta June (Pippenger) Coey, 1926-2008. was my mother.
