She was born to Nestor and Rebecca Tafoya on March 24, 1928 in Del Norte.
Esther was full of life, and enjoyed playing bingo. She loved being surrounded by her family members.
Esther is survived by her daughter Debbie Quintana of Monte Vista, son Fred (Frances) Benavides of Del Norte, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Esther is preceded in death by her parents Nestor and Rebecca Tafoya, her husband Johnny Quintana, her son, one grandson, three brothers and three sisters.
A Rosary will be held in her honor on Thursday, April 3 at the Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Del Norte. at 7 p.m. The celebration of Mass will be held on Friday, April 4 at the Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church at 10 a.m.
