Precious was the daughter of John (Sven) Olson and Mabel Rude. She married Reuben Wiuff in December 1934. They were the parents of Patricia and Skip.

March 18, 2004 - Humboldt Independent - Funeral services for Precious E. Wiuff, 90, Humboldt, will be held at 10:30 a.m. today (Thursday, March 18) at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Humboldt, with burial in the Union Cemetery, Humboldt.

She died Sunday, March 14, 2004, at the Humboldt Care Center North in Humboldt. The Mason - Lindhart Funeral Home of Humboldt is in charge of the arrangements, with the Rev. Robert Molldrem and the Rev. Kevin Weeks officiating.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Mervyn Johnson of Humboldt; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Sue Wiuff of Humboldt; and sisters, Luella Segar of Webster City; Maye Wahman of Stratford; Joyce Rollarid of Peoria, AZ; and Madelyn Olson of Council Bluffs.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rueben; son, Skip Wiuff; brother, Orlando Olson; and sisters, Rachel Gollob, Ruth Farris, and Viola Lowmiller.

Precious Elizabeth Olson, daughter of John and Mabel (Rude) Olson, was born Feb. 25, 1914, at Duncombe. As a child, she moved to the Hardy area and attended Vernon Consolidated School, and later graduated from Eagle Grove High School. Following her education, she taught school for a brief time.

In December 1934, she was united in marriage to Rueben Wiuff. The couple first lived in Humboldt, and then in 1937 they began farming in Rutland Township. Following her husband's death in 1971, she continued to maintain her home on the farm. She had been employed at the Humboldt Care Center South, the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital, Blakestad Drug, and MS and Sons in Humboldt. In May of 2000, she became a resident of the Humboldt Care Center North. She was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church.
