Roy Palmer Mays Jr., better known as Doc was born July 3, 1943 in Middletown, OH and departed this life Friday, June 19, 2015 at his residence, being 71 years of age. He was the son of the late Roy P. Mays Sr. and Dorothy (Rader) Mays.
Doc is survived by his wife Judy Faye Mays of McKee and by one daughter, Danetta Cunnigan and husband Richard of Sand Gap. He is also survived by a brother, Ronnie Mays and wife Lisa of McKee; by three sisters, Kathleen Richardson and husband Burgoyne of McKee, Rose Anna Kelly and husband Bob of Walton and Gladys Robinson and husband Wayne of London and by his mother in law Lucy Harrison of Sand Gap. Doc was blessed with two grandchildren, Gregory David Mays and wife Jessie and Janetta Leanne Cunnigan and by five great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Doc was also preceded in death by his son Greg Mays, by a sister, Nettie Faye Gray and by four brothers, Dennis, Ovel Gene, Shelby and Rutledge Mays.
Doc was of the Holiness Faith.
Funeral service was held 2:00PM Monday, June 22, 2015 at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Angel officiating. Burial followed in the Mays Cemetery. Arrangements made by Lake Funeral Home.
