Phyllis Joann Tingle, 75 of Bessemer passed away after a lengthy illness on Friday.
She was born in Harrison, AR. She is preceded in death by her mother Ollie Standridge Stroup, and her brother 1st Lt., David H Stroup.
Phyllis was an active member of Raimund Heights Baptist Church. She enjoyed travel, swimming, NASCAR and doing whatever she could to support our armed services personnel. Her smile, love, laughter and opinions will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at McCalla Memorial Funeral Home with burial following at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
