His films include "My Younger Brother" (1962), "Three Plus Two" (1963), "The Diamond Arm" (1968), and "The Twelve Chairs" (1976), in which he played Ostap Bender. He was named People's Actor of the USSR. Mironov was born in Moscow. In 1962 he joined Moscow's Satire Theatre and remained with that company the rest of his life.
