Mrs. Verna Alley Huckaby, 74, Church Hill Life Care Center, died Tuesday, June 11, 1985, at Indian Path Hospital after a long illness.
A lifelong resident of Hawkins County, Mrs. Huckaby was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, John Huckaby, Church Hill; a daughter, Mrs. Garnie (Elizabeth) Christian, Church Hill; four sons, James (Jimmy), Tommy, Clarence and Earl Huckaby, all of Church Hill; 13 grandchildren, 16 greatgrandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Green (Alma) Holt, Church Hill, Mrs. J.C. (Delmar) Adams, Rogersville, and Mrs. Simon Ward, Surgoinsville; and a brother, Oscar Alley, Church Hill.
She was predeceased by a son, John Huckaby Jr.
Services were held Friday afternoon at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Alvin Skelton and Herman Christian officiating.
Burial was in the Church Hill Memory Gardens.
