She was a native of Cleveland County, and the daughter of Annie Mae Lutz and Andrew Max Boggs Sr.,

Zora was a retired grammar school teacher in Belwood, Fallston, Greensboro and Slater-Marietta, S.C.

She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church.
