ALMA OVETA SINGLETON
Alma Oveta Singleton, 92 of Marceline, died Friday morning, Nov. 12, 1999 at Pioneer Health Center in Marceline.
Graveside services were held Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999 at Park Lawn Memorial Gardens in Brookfield.
Oveta was born Apr. 26, 1907 in Rothville, the daughter of Charles and Iva (Campbell) Allen. She married Charles William Singleton on Jan. 28, 1931.
Oveta was a homemaker and a member of the Marceline United Methodist Church and Pleasant Grove Club in Laclede.
She was a former member of South Edge Methodist Extension Club, Quilters Club and had been a Marceline resident since 1974.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Neeley of Brookfield, and Darlene Ochsner of Ferndale, Washington; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983 and one brother, Russell Allen.
