Born Nov. 13, 1957, he was the son of Herman D. and Lorna Baldner. He graduated from Dallas Center High School in 1976 and attended McPherson College at McPherson, Kan. for two years. He joined the Dallas Center Church of The Brethren on April 28, 1974. He was a former 4-H Club member, and was listed in the National Who's Who Among High School Students. He was farming with his father at the time of his death, and also was involved with the family furniture refinishing business.
He is survived by his parents and three sisters, Glenace Baldner Shank of Ames, Diane Baldner Smith of Mesa, Ariz. and Ruth Baldner Yohn of Elgin, Ill.
