The "Shay Locomotive" featured flexible railway trucks and horizontal cylinders, which made it easier for trains to haul large amounts of logs from the woods to the mill. An incredible invention- a steam driven locomotive with side-mounted cylinders, allowing the negotiation of rugged hillsides that were inaccessible to normal fullsize locomotives. Remembered today, your country owes you tremendous respect Sir. -
