Mary Catherine Burns
(April 22, 1926 - June 8, 2015)
Mary Catherine "Cat" Reagan Burns, 89, of Maryville passed away peacefully the morning of June 8, 2015.
Affectionately known as "Cat" to her boys and family, "granny" to her grandchildren, she leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, wisdom, and love that neither death nor separation can destroy. Forever known for her funny sayings and expertise in feeding people the best food known to man, we are eternally grateful to have known and loved her.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Nora Latham Reagan and Otha Reagan; brothers, Otha Reagan Jr., and Hubert Reagan; sisters, Helen Householder, Ruby Vaughn, Irene "Pete" Vaughn, and Dorothy Watson; grandson, Scott Burns.
Left to cherish her memory are sons, Robert L. "Bud" Burns and wife, Barbara, Larry Burns and wife, Kathy; grandsons, Mike Burns and wife, Amy, Christian Burns and wife, Melissa; granddaughter, Lisa Goins and husband, Jason; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses, CNA's, and staff of 1 South at Asbury Place for the compassion and kindness shown to our family and to Catherine.
Funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Miller Funeral Home, Magnolia Chapel, with interment to follow at Clarks Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville, TN., (865) 982-6041.
