GRIMES -- A funeral for Catherine V. Denton, 81, of Grimes was held Dec. 8, 1984 at the First Presbyterian Church at Grimes. Mrs. Denton died of a heart ailment on Dec. 4 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center at Des Moines.
Burial was in the Brethren Cemetery at Dallas Center.
She was born in Cedar Rapids and had lived in the Grimes and Dallas Center areas for 75 years. She was a retired receptionist and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Grimes.
Survivors include two daughters, Cletus Schwaibe of Cedarburg, Wis. and Joy Gicoff of West Des Moines, one son, Charles F. Denton of West Des Moines; three brothers, Joy Badger of Dallas Center, Ira Badger of Weslaco, Texas and George Hayes of Philadelphia, Pa.; one sister, Helen Porter of Clearwater, Fla.; 15 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
