From Hazleton PA Plain Speaker, Mon. Aug. 23, 1937:
The Klingerman family reunion was held at Eurana Park, in Weatherly on Saturday, when tribute was paid to William Klingerman, aged 86 years, of Park Place, the only surviving members of the originators of the reunion. He was presented with a beautiful gift by the family. There were 250 members of the family present, with the committee in charge headed by Phil Brandau, of this city, and William Fox, as secretary. At the business meeting, Shad Hill, of Nanticoke, was named president and Valentine Sipple, of Plymouth, was chosen secretary for the 30th annual reunion, which will be held at Sans Sousi Park, in Wilkes-barre, in 1938. Prizes were awarded to the following: Betty Sauber, aged 6 months, of Nanticoke; to the largest family, James Klingerman and family, of Jeddo; to the youngest married couple, Mr. and Mrs. A.S. Weldner, of Wescosville; and to the one traveling the longest distance, Miss Hilda Schwartz, of Augusta, Georgia, who came 800 miles to attend the affair. Rev. Edward Klingerman, of Winchester, Va., spoke at the dinner, and the supper speaker was Rev. Ray Klingerman, of Lisbon, Ohio. The meals were served by the ladies of the Salem Reformed church in Weatherly, with Rev. Moyer in charge.
