Ethel B. Freed, 99, of Danville, Ill., died at 4:20 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 1995 at Danville Care Center South.

She was born Oct. 27, 1896, in Cayuga, Ind., the daughter of William H. and Cora B. (Lewis) Harvey. She married Ephraim Lafayette Freed August 11, 1908, in Cayuga. He preceded her in death March 15, 1975. Survivors include: three sons, Melvin (Jaylene) Freed, Marvin (Sally) Freed and Ephraim Gene Freed, all of Danville, Ill.; one daughter, Ethel Josephine Hamilton of Oralanaha, Fl.; a daughter-in-law, Reba Freed of Sacramento, Ca.; 26 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by one son, three daughters, three brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Freed was a life member of First Church of the Nazarene. She was very active in the church and served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She enjoyed reading the Bible, sewing and working with potted plants.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Barrick & Son Funeral Home; Officiating: Pastor Jerry Short; Burial: Spring Hill Cemetery; Visitation: 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
