Former Stillwater Man Shot in Sapulpa Robbery
A former Stillwater business man, Iley C. Yeargin, 58, Sapulpa, was fatally injured in what was believed to have been a holdup early Monday morning. It is believed that he resisted the robbery and was shot three times.
Yeargin lived in Stillwater for several years, and owned a grocery store here, in addition to owning several Main street properties. He was married to Ora May Bowers in Stillwater in 1899. He is survived by his widow and two daughters, Mrs. Reed Coldiron, Moreland, and Mrs. Loftin Brogdon, Springdale, Ark., and two sons, Theodore, Honolulu, H.I., and Marion, San Francisco, Cal.
Funeral services were held at the Lewis & Landrith Funeral Home, Sapulpa, Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock. Burial was in Fairlawn cemetery, Stillwater, at 2 o'clock Tuesday.
